Slow Burn Social
Recap of Slow Burn Social Vol. 6 - Songs in the Key of Live by Stevie Wonder
Slow Burn Social: A Vinyl Listening Experience is a monthyl sacred social practice, a ceremony, an invitation of collective deep listening followed by connection rooted in sounds of the African Diaspora. What started as a Threads post is growing into a community of artists, activists, dreamers, world-builders, audiophiles, and revolutionaries desiring to imagine a new world. In some special ocassions, the featured artists of the month send custom videos to the Slow Burn community and we get unique insights about the record right before diving into the listening.
Here we listen to feel, and share to connect. This experience is unlike any other because we can feel the vibrations of the music in the floor of the space. In partnereship with Open Doors.

“The vinyl listening party curated by B was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced before. About 8 years ago, a beloved invited me to an Alice Coltrane tribute concert but wasn’t able to attend. I probably wasn’t ready to receive the many levels of brilliance until now. It was such an incredible experience to be in such a gorgeous space and calming environment with others. I loved that most attendees were Black, Indigenous and Queer. Thank you for bringing us all together in such an intentional and soulful way, B.”
